Revamping!

I am going to be revamping the blog asap. I understand I haven't been very good about blogging, mainly because of a little person who takes up the majority of my time since he started crawling and now standing up and walking! eek! Keep checking back to see the changes! I should put one of those blinkies on this website that say UNDER CONSTRUCTION!

My sweet boy is almost 10 months old! I cannot believe it! I am thinking of what I am going to do for his first birthday. I thought of doing Sesame Street, but he has never watched the show, so I thought since he LOVES all the Pooh stuff in his room, I would give him a Pooh party! I am going to make his first birthday cake too! I'm going to be checking out Michaels and making sure I clip every 40-50 % off coupon between now and his birthday in January! This should be fun! I'll take a picture of the cake to show you how it turned out!

Here's a video of my sweet boy in action!

More later....

Forgiveness....

“I can forgive, but I cannot forget, is only another way of saying, I will not forgive. Forgiveness ought to be like a cancelled note - torn in two, and burned up, so that it never can be shown against one.”-Henry Ward Beecher

New things...

Well, I know this is a much needed blog update, I have been so busy with the day-to-day taking care of an almost 8 month old! (I can hardly believe it) My sweet boy is learning more and more new things, his newest is spitting his veggies out on Mama and making a mess in the process. He also loves taking his bib off, so I'm going to have to invest in snap bibs so he can't pull them off!

He is doing rolling over both ways, sitting up (still more supported, but can on his own) and almost crawling. He is getting more and more personality everyday. We are big on routines around the Tibbs household and Garrett thrives on them. He takes his naps in his nice new crib (which we had to buy another one because his old one was recalled) and eats solid food and bottles like clockwork, around the same time everyday.

We are starting a new school year in a couple of weeks and getting all geared up for that as well. Dave is starting a new college and we are excited. Almost everything he did at the college before this one transferred..what an answer to prayer! We are still praying about big decisions that are to come, but know that God is going to show us in his timing, and NOT ours. That's hard for me, since it makes me nervous not knowing what God is going to do or how it will all work out, but faith is all apart of this christian walk. I don't have to know what is going to happen before I'll trust him. I trust him and in doing so he'll show us where to go.

Other things...I cut 10 INCHES off the length of my hair! Such a change but its so cute and easier to manage. I haven't cut it so short in many years, so it was a shock. I am also blonde again, and I love it!

More to come.........

My Daddy & Mama

I haven't been on for awhile, but this is my Mother/Father's Day post to two very special people in my life...

Mama,
Thank you for being my best friend, someone I can always talk to and someone who knows me better than I know myself. You are what I aspire to be like in raising my babies, you did so well with us kids. Thank you for always believing in me like Daddy did, always loving and full of wisdom. You are so beautiful, inside and out.You are so special to me and I am so thankful to have you in my life. I love you so much! Your Rachel Anne

Daddy,
I love you so very much! Thank you for always telling me how pretty I am, always having faith in me even when I didn't in myself. Thank you for praying with me to accept Jesus in my heart and baptizing me. You always showed me how much I meant to you, always giving hugs and kisses. I couldn't have asked for a better Daddy. I love you with all my heart! Always, your little girl

Cha cha cha changes!!

I realized that I haven't updated my blog in awhile. We have had so many decisions to make recently and obviously they've been hard to make, but its really taught us about fasting and praying to hear what God wants us to do.

First off, we have decided to stay in Memphis and finish up school here. It was frustrating at first, because I'd love nothing more than to be near my parents and friends up in CT, but when we went to check out living situations, etc, nothing seemed to come together or feel right. Dave's school down here is still closing, but we have decided to go to A community college for a year, then transfer into U of M (go Tigers, even if you didn't get into the final four! haha). So, we signed our apartment lease for another year, and we're going to be Tennesseans for at least 2 more years.

On to another change! Church. We have been feeling for awhile like we need to make a switch. There is nothing wrong with the current church, its just that we feel like we need people our own age (mostly older people) and apart of Mens/Women's groups. The current church doesn't have anything for either. So, here we go! We're trying out a new church this Sunday called Life Church. I am so excited!

http://www.lifechurch.tv/message-archive/watch/i-love-my-church/2 For those of you who remember how my cousin Lydia last year lost her sweet boy Jace, here is the story for you to view. Fast forward to the last 9 minutes or so. It's an amazing story of God's faithfulness through tragedy.

And... Lydia's having another little boy who is due on Tuesday! Baby Jett! We're all so excited!! I'll update with a picture whenever she gets them up!
